Modernity Balanced With Earthy Materials

Located just outside Washington, D.C. in a modern high-rise campus is the Reston, VA Raymond James office. Built in a brand new space, the project team designed a modern office with clean lines, beautifully earthy materials, and little wink moments of playfulness as soft, eased edges strategically accent design elements throughout.

A New Home for the Foundation

The Cleveland Foundation’s new home is a mass timber building design targeting LEED Gold. Located within Cleveland’s Hough/Midtown District, the site lies on an unimproved plot adjacent to the historic Dunham Tavern Museum. The Project Team, a collaboration between Vocon and S9 Architecture, designed a new headquarters building that is a new home for the Foundation and a tremendous resource to the surrounding community.

A Community Living Room

The result is a modern campus environment that puts community, accessibility and flexibility at the forefront.

Innovation for Innovators

At first glance, Redwood Living is a company that builds and manages single-story apartment homes. But when you look closer, they are so much more. They are builders, they are innovators, they are people who go the extra mile. And most importantly, they are committed to one overarching goal – enriching the lives of those who choose to rent throughout suburban America. In Vocon, they found a partner that shares their values and would work collaboratively with them to design solutions that celebrate their commitment to the community.

A Neighborhood Invigorated

Chicago-based Stoneleigh Companies partnered with Vocon to turn their vision for a 3.4-acre property into a luxury living complex. Waterford Bluffs, located at the west end of the Hope Memorial Bridge, now links retail and dining activities in Ohio City, Tremont and downtown Cleveland neighborhoods with a thoughtful residential district.

Crafting A Destination

Scottish craft brewer BrewDog sought Vocon to be the Architect of Record for their new destination bar and restaurant located in an early 1900’s industrial building on the edge of the Cuyahoga River.

The two-story 1918 building comprises 10,409 SF of interior kitchen and dining space. The design celebrates their industrial past, with expansive concrete support beams, brick walls – left untouched, exposing decades of graffiti – and original metal loading rails, conduits and ductwork that run along an open concrete ceiling. The goal for the space was to seamlessly integrate the existing elements that the Client loves and integrate modern amenities to support their function.

Design Excellence

With a focus on wellness for their employees, Vocon created an inviting, warm and humble architectural design to showcase who Great Lakes Cheese Company is at their core and highlight innovation.

Energizing Bodies, Minds & Business

When AmLaw 200 firm Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP’s Chicago office could no longer accommodate their growing team of attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants, they sought Vocon’s expertise to facilitate the relocation of their practice to two floors within the skyscraper 71 South Wacker Drive. Vocon’s team incorporated areas for attorneys and their staff to relax, recharge and find respite – from wellness spaces to prayer rooms – situated along the office circulation path.

A Neighborhood Transformed

Phase I of The Quarter development sits at the significant intersection of West 25th and Detroit Avenue in Ohio City, the gateway intersection to Cleveland’s west side neighborhoods. The Quarter Phase II expanded on the urban success of Phase I, to create a complimentary, yet entirely unique sister project across the heavily trafficked Detroit Avenue.

A Humble Honor

Under the guidance and experience of Rabbi Eliyahu Stern, Mikvah Consultant, Vocon had the privilege to create a Mikvah facility available to all members of the Jewish community.

Writing our New York story

Having outgrown our previous space, it was time for Vocon’s New York office to write its own story at 530 Fifth Avenue. With 15,000 SF, ingenuity, and an eye for cutting-edge design, our offices now accommodate over 80 employees within a flexible and responsive workplace. Our space tells the story of our relationships – our commitment to clients and employees, our ability to challenge the status quo, and our gratitude towards the community.

A blue-chip art collection adorns the public spaces, channeling the vibrancy of nearby luxury retail, dining, living, and entertainment options.

Reflecting Ingenuity, Promoting Flexibility

Process Technology was committed to their community when it was time to update their historic Willoughby headquarters. Our design honors their commitment to the community by repurposing the site of a former used car dealership into a vibrant, open, and bright contemporary office. The existing building was the place for auto sales and the site consisted of outdated and utilitarian structures. Our design connects structures that were constructed over the years, creating a cohesion that reflects the progressive technological identity of this forward-thinking company.
