Principal  |  Architect Of Record

Principal and Architect of Record John C. Workley is the driving force behind Vocon’s quality control processes. With over three decades of professional experience – and licensure in all fifty states – John is responsible for mitigating risks, developing and maintaining comprehensive design deliverables, and overseeing quality assurance. John is an expert leader in project management and operations, with a focus on obtaining permits, code conditions, and unique corporate building requirements. His expertise spans every sector – from high rises that transform city skylines to civic spaces for the community – and he has played an integral role in Vocon’s most pivotal projects.

John received his lifelong inspiration for the built environment from his father by working with him on construction projects as a young man. As a current member of the Construction Specifications Institute’s Board and the Former President of the Cleveland Chapter, John stays at the forefront of the continuous development of construction standards, formats, education, and certifications. He leveraged this insight for his curriculum as an Adjunct Professor at Kent State University’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design – focusing on Building Codes and the health, safety, welfare, and protection of property. John hopes his legacy, commitment, and passion help to inspire others to participate in the constructed environment: shaping the communities we work and play in every day.
