World Monuments Fund is the leading independent organization devoted to safeguarding the world’s most treasured places to enrich people’s lives and build mutual understanding across cultures and communities. With offices and affiliates around the globe, WMF asked Vocon to be an agile partner, guiding the design of their New York Headquarters to support their commitment to cultures and communities.

The New York office HQ is located in the iconic Rockefeller Center. The building is surrounded by large perimeter glass windows with direct views to 5th Avenue. Culturally, the building is visited and surrounded by a wide variety of people from all over the world, diverse restaurants and upscale hotels – all within short walking distance.

WMF’s central values inspired Vocon to create a sense of wonder throughout the space, using interior moments to display/highlight the organization’s diversity. Our design team took a people-first approach – creating a link between place and community where the goal is always to work together to resolve challenges.

These values became part of the motivation for selecting the final architectural and furniture selections for the space. Vocon’s goal became to provide WMF with a space of value and function where their values would be met. Inspired by the site and its diversity, the team used bright pops of color, textured woods, stones and dark metals for contrast.

Vocon worked closely with WMF to strategize the best locations for their multi-flex rooms, textured phone rooms, open work neighborhoods, private offices and warm-toned pantry. Lastly, Vocon integrated a high level of technology within the space to fit the standard staff technology needs, allowing all employees to connect globally.
