Chicago-based Stoneleigh Companies partnered with Vocon to turn their vision for a 3.4-acre property into a luxury living complex. Waterford Bluffs, located at the west end of the Hope Memorial Bridge, now links retail and dining activities in Ohio City, Tremont and downtown Cleveland neighborhoods with a thoughtful residential district.
With six stories on top of a 75-foot-high bluff, the building configuration maximizes views of downtown Cleveland, the Cuyahoga River and the historic West Side Market. The complex includes 241 apartments on four wood-framed floors above the first-floor concrete podium and below-grade parking level. A two-story building lobby anchors the first floor, creating a significant street presence that connects residents with various services and amenities. The site size and geotechnical characteristics required that all parking be accommodated within the building footprint. The building includes 268 parking spaces on both the first and below-grade levels. An open visitor parking area is segregated from secure resident parking and includes direct access to the two-story building lobby.
The second-floor outdoor amenities deck features a heated stainless-steel swimming pool. The Cuyahoga Club, a luxury community room, anchors one end of the deck, while a fitness center and adjacent yoga room flank the other end. A green turf outdoor activities area with a putting green lines the deck between the fitness center and pool-side cabanas. The complex also features a fifth-floor lounge and terrace, a leasing office, a mailroom, a gallery corridor, bike storage, a bike wash facility and a pet wash room. The Sky Lounge, located on the top floor, offers an amenity space with expansive views of the neighborhood through floor-to-ceiling windows. An adjacent covered outdoor patio expands the entertaining options for tenants.
