Based in an up-and-coming part of Cleveland, Saucy Brew Works represents the best of a booming new neighborhood. We helped them create a space that is true to its historic roots yet still cool and modern.
Saucy Brew Works was born of a passion for beer and adventure, and a devotion to the Cleveland community. The owners of this craft brewery and pizzeria chose to open their first venture in the Steelman Building, a long-unused machine shop in Hingetown, a neighborhood with a rising energy and an explosion of pedestrian-friendly developments.
We designed a glass wall and a large garage door to open the space to sunlight, added a spacious patio, and installed solar panels on the roof to power much of the operation and align with the owners’ environmental sustainability goals.
The interior celebrates the site’s former use, retaining working cranes that run the full length of the building and boom cranes that come off the walls, now repurposed to hold TVs and beer lists. Wood and textured surfaces soften the open, industrial feel.
