Oatey Wins Honorable Mention for the 2020 USGBC Green Building Legacy Award

The USGBC Ohio community has announced the winners of this year’s leadership awards, which recognize individuals who have made outstanding commitments to their local communities and projects in the state of Ohio, with outstanding achievement in the realm of green building design and construction.

Vocon is proud to announce that Oatey Corporate Headquarters has received an Honorable Mention for the 2020 USGBC Leadership Awards’ Green Building Legacy Award.

Set on a stunning 7.6-acre site bordering the Cleveland Metroparks and sited to enhance the building’s energy performance, the new structure capitalizes on park views and natural light for the entire staff.

A variety of open and closed conference spaces support the growing call for collaboration amongst employees. Indoor cafés, an expansive porch and outdoor picnic areas, an outdoor walking trail, and a fitness suite all serve to make the space more inviting, while individual workspaces incorporate controls over temperature, light, and ergonomics.

A key concern during the design process was reducing environmental impact, which is reflected both in the architectural decisions that lead to LEED-certification, as well as design elements such as the incorporation of native plant species in the grounds.
