Notable Leaders in Architecture, Engineering & Construction 2026

Northeast Ohio’s leaders in architecture, engineering and construction are helping shape the communities where we live and work. Through their contributions to the built environment, these individuals support the infrastructure that drives our economy, strengthens our neighborhoods and reflects the evolving needs and values of society. We’re proud to announce that Vocon’s Senior Associate | Studio Director, Michael Christoff has been selected as a notable leader for 2026.

Scope of work: Michael Christoff has more than 20 years of experience working in complex multifamily, mixed-use and corporate projects. Promoted to the role in 2025, Christoff leads the studio, while managing key projects and client relationships.

Big win: Christoff was promoted to studio director last year, a move recognizing his leadership across mixed-use and corporate projects. In his daily work, Christoff manages a talented, growing team, drives collaboration across offices and helps identify and secure new client opportunities.

Other contributions: Outside the office, Christoff serves on the board of the American Institute of Architects Cleveland chapter. He also co-founded PechaKucha Night Cleveland and has sat on the Cleveland Arts Prize design jury.

Methodology: Crain’s Notable Leaders in Architecture, Engineering and Construction includes only individuals for whom nominations were submitted and accepted after a review by editors. To qualify for the list, which is not comprehensive, nominees must currently serve in a senior leadership role at their firm; have been in the profession for a minimum of five years; demonstrate the ability to bring about change in their role; and assume a leadership position outside their own company, including professional organizations and civic/community service initiatives. Profiles were written from nomination materials submitted. No more than three honorees per firm may be included on the list. Honorees can appear in up to two Notable features per calendar year.
