Halle Michalakes is 2023 IIDA Cleveland / Akron Member of the Year

Congratulations to Vocon Project Designer Halle Michalakes for being awarded the 2023 IIDA Cleveland / Akron Member of the Year! Her exceptional achievement was acknowledged at the recent International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Cleveland/Akron City Center Design Awards Event on Thursday, October 26th. The IIDA hosts this event every other year, celebrating the exemplary interior design projects and successes of IIDA Cleveland / Akron City Center members. This year, the event was hosted at the Truss Event Venue in Cleveland and was an exceptional gathering that brought together talented minds and creative spirits, celebrating outstanding design achievements. “Halle’s contributions to the Interior Design profession, her dedication to IIDA, and her outstanding leadership within the A&D community make her a deserving candidate for this award.

“For 10 years, Project Designer Halle Michalakes has actively participated within IIDA by serving on the local board in several different roles. Her passion and excitement for the organization as been infectious, and she has successfully managed and energized the local IIDA committee through her leadership.

Halle has dedicated countless hours to planning IIDA programming and always goes above and beyond in her efforts. She bravely assumed one of the leadership roles in planning the inaugural Chapter Design Awards. More recently, she’s dedicated herself to Cleveland’s neOHcon tradeshow event – two of IIDA’s largest annual events that bring together the Cleveland / Akron design community.

Halle is a true star in our field. Beyond her IIDA accomplishments, she is a strong voice at her firm Vocon and continuously advocates for interior design. She maintains a positive and approachable attitude that fosters mentorship with younger designers. Halle is an invaluable part of the IIDA community and deserves to be recognized for the hard work she has put in to make our city center as strong as it can be.”
