Vocon has received AIA Cleveland’s 2020 Honor Award, People’s Choice Award, Small Projects Award, and Interior Architecture Award. AIA Cleveland also recognized Vocon employees Dave Robar, Crystal Knapik, Abby Baker, and Jodi Van Der Wiel for their exceptional work within the profession of architecture.
The awards were presented at the 2020 AIA Cleveland Design Awards Ceremony.
AIA Cleveland recognized Vocon’s Geometry Project with an Honor Award in Interior Architecture. Geometry, WPP’s end-to-end Creative Commerce Agency, has created engaging new commerce experiences for clients with workplace designs that are clean, sophisticated, and eclectic. AIA Cleveland also recognized Vocon’s space designs for Process Technology, a leader in design and innovation of cutting-edge technology equipment, with three awards: the People’s Choice Award, Honorable Mention in the Small Projects category, and the Honor Award in Interior Architecture.
AIA Cleveland also recognized Vocon professionals Dave Robar, Crystal Knapil, Abby Baker and Jodi Van Der Wiel. Robar received an award in the Architectural Photography category for his artistic photograph of the Greyhound Bus Station, titled “The Hound Never Sleeps.” Crystal Knapik was recognized with the Emerging Professional Award as an outstanding member of the next generation of leaders, contributing to the workplace and further developing the profession of architecture. Abby Baker received the Presidential Citation for exemplary service to the AIA organization and grateful appreciation for her leadership, wisdom and passion for architecture. Jodi Van Der Wiel was recognized by David Craun, the incoming President for 2021, for her leadership through a challenging year as the 2020 President of the Cleveland Chapter of AIA.
