Cuyahoga County Administrative Headquarters.

Cleveland, Ohio

Project Overview.

Vocon worked with the Geis Companies as the Design Architect for the core and shell of the new Cuyahoga County Administrative Headquarters.  Situated at the corner of East 9th and Prospect Avenue, the new eight-story, 220,000 SF Cuyahoga County Administrative Headquarters anchors a key intersection and gateway into Cleveland’s Central business District. Home to over 15 different public departments, the new building was designed to convey the County’s mission for responsible and transparent government.

The building program required maximizing the area on each of the 8 floors, informing a building design that abuts the property lines and completes the block.  The design also provided for a public, 8,000 SF green roof that utilizes planted areas to define walkways and various areas to sit and enjoy views of the city.

An existing pedestrian bridge that connected the former 5-story building that sat on the site to an adjacent parking garage was retained and renovated to provide direct access to the building from the parking garage.
