VOCON DESIGNERS RECEIVE ENVIRONMENTAL INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL HONOR
Maritz and Dennison Receive Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design Designation
Vocon Inc., leading architectural and interior design firm, announces certification of Sarah Maritz and Lauren Dennison as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professionals (LEED AP) by the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Maritz and Dennison’s certification further portrays Vocon’s commitment to providing sustainable design options and specifications to clients, with a staff of more than ten LEED accredited professionals. “Vocon seeks to bring sustainable design elements to every project,” said Matt Heisey, principal, LEED AP, Vocon.
The designation of LEED AP, a highly recognized accomplishment, demonstrates a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles as well as the LEED Rating System. As LEED AP professionals, Maritz and Dennison will enhance Vocon’s ability to provide environmentally friendly specifications, along with the knowledge and skills to service clients’ needs for sustainable projects. In addition, Maritz and Dennison have the ability to facilitate the LEED certification process for all client projects.
Sarah Maritz joined Vocon in 2006 as a project designer. She works closely with architects and interior designers and is responsible for space planning, design and finish specification, as well as directing the development and execution of projects. Maritz received a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Kent State University in 2006 and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Ashland University in 1997. She is currently resides in Parma Heights, Ohio.
Lauren Dennison came to Vocon in 2007, also as a project designer. She is a part-time professor of the interior design program in the college of architecture and environmental design at Kent State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in interior design. Dennison is a resident of Cleveland.
