VOCON DESIGNER EARNS ENVIRONMENTAL INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
Jennifer Mahnen Receives Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design Designation
Vocon, a leading architectural and interior design firm, announces the certification of Jennifer Mahnen as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) for Commercial Interiors (CI) by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Mahnen’s certification further demonstrates Vocon’s commitment to providing sustainable design options and specifications to clients, with a staff of more than ten LEED accredited professionals. “Jennifer’s achievement is another step for the firm to bring sustainable design elements to every project, specifically for clients requiring a focus on commercial interiors,” said Matt Heisey, principal, LEED AP, Vocon.
The designation of LEED AP, a highly recognized accomplishment, demonstrates a thorough understanding of the design and construction of commercial spaces and tenant improvements, green building practices and principles, as well as the LEED rating system.
Jennifer Mahnen began her career in 2003 at Vocon as an interior design intern. Upon graduation, Mahnen joined the firm in 2004 as an interior designer. In this role, she works closely with architects and other interior designers on space planning, design and finish specification, as well as directing the development and execution of projects.
Mahnen has worked with such high-caliber clients as Huntington National Banks, LCA-Lasik Plus Vision Centers, Wells Fargo and Willis Inc,.
Mahnen received a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Kent State University in 2004 and became NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) certified in April of 2006. She is a professional member of IIDA (International Interior Design Association) and currently serves as secretary of the Cleveland/Akron IIDA City Center. Mahnen resides in Cleveland, Ohio.
