VOCON CREATES $25,000 ENDOWMENT TO BENEFIT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY INTERIOR DESIGNER STUDENTS

Kent State student receives university’s first-ever interior design scholarship

Vocon, an architectural and interior design firm located in downtown Cleveland, has created a $25,000 endowment at Kent State University to invest in the interior designers of tomorrow.

The endowment is part of a five-year commitment, awarding a $5,000 scholarship to one student each year enrolled in Kent State University’s College of Architecture & Environmental Design. Vocon is the first firm to create a scholarship to provide funding for students enrolled in this program at Kent State.

“We have more than 30 Kent graduates at Vocon and can attest to the degree of highly trained and talented interior designers and architects that have emerged from the program,” said Paul Voinovich, principal, Vocon. “We’re proud to contribute to the education of current students to improve the future of design.”

This scholarship is awarded to a student of sophomore standing that has excelled significantly beyond their peers in the classroom. Most importantly, the student has completed an exceptional freshman portfolio and upholds a high grade point average.

Katy Fetrow, an interior design student at Kent State University, and a native of Warren, Ohio, was selected to receive this year’s scholarship on behalf of Vocon.
